Fertility Nurse

June Flood from Portarlington Co Offaly, went to secondary school in Rathangan Co Kildare and studied General Nursing in Tralee Co Kerry where she gained her National Diploma in Gen Nursing in 2004 followed by her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2005.

June worked as General Nurse until commencing her Higher Diploma in Midwifery at The National Maternity Hospital, Holles Street in Dublin in 2005 and qualified in 2007. She continued to work there until moving in March 2010 to work as a Midwife in the labour and delivery unit of KAMC-National Guard hospital in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

After four years in Saudi Arabia June moved back to Ireland along with her partner Mhairi in 2014.
After working in agency nursing and midwifery for a few months she commenced work in General Practice, where all aspects of her experience were valuable.
In 2018 she started working with the Irish Family Planning Association (IFPA), where her passion for women’s health and well-being was really highlighted, from cervical screening to fertility guidance and support, this was a wonderful opportunity to gain experience and knowledge in this area.

While working at a GP surgery she also completed some valuable knowledge through courses such as the Cervical screening course with the RCSI.

June lives in Portarlington with her partner Mhairi and their twins Euan and Autumn and two dogs Lola and Sadie.
